2 minute timer
The smallest possible start. Tap Start and only do it until it beeps.
What 2 minutes are good for
Two minutes is the time behind the two-minute rule, which comes in two flavors. David Allen's version: if something takes less than two minutes, do it now instead of writing it down. James Clear's version: every new habit starts with a version that fits in two minutes, like reading one page, putting on your running shoes or opening the file.
The trick is that two minutes aren't scary. When a task feels big, your brain looks for an exit. When it becomes "just until it beeps", it says yes. Often, once you've started, you keep going. If you don't, that's fine too: you did something, and it counts.
Use this timer as a doorway. Pick the task that weighs on you most, the ugliest one on your list, and promise only two minutes. When it beeps, decide again: stop or keep going.

How to use this timer
Tap Start. The countdown keeps going even if you switch tabs or lock your computer, because it uses your device's clock rather than a counter that can drift. The tab title shows the time left, so you can see it at a glance.
Need more time? Tap +1 min without stopping. Just want a big clock? Tap Full screen. At the end you'll hear a short beep and, on phones, feel a vibration when the browser allows it.
Frequently asked questions
Isn't two minutes too short?
That's the point. The goal isn't to finish, it's to start. Starting is the hardest part, and a tiny window takes the weight off the decision.
What if I want to keep going after the beep?
Keep going. Tap Reset and choose a longer time, or tap +1 min as often as you like. The two minutes were just the door.
Does the timer work when my screen is locked?
With the tab in the background, yes: time is measured by your device's clock and the sound is scheduled ahead. With the phone locked, some browsers silence the page. For a guaranteed alert on a locked phone, use the Done! app.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. The timer runs in your browser, free, with no sign-up and no ads. Nothing you do here is sent anywhere.
Want this timer in your pocket?
Done! pairs the timer with one-tap micro-habits and gentle reminders. Never judges.
