15 minute timer

A quarter of an hour: short enough to start, long enough to matter.

15:00

What 15 minutes are good for

Fifteen minutes is the focus block for anyone who finds a pomodoro too long. You can get into the task, do a real chunk of it and step out before you're worn out. If you want more at the end, great. If not, that was fifteen minutes well spent.

It's also a nice size for a morning routine: coffee, medication or vitamins if you take them, getting dressed, a quick look at the day ahead. With the timer running, the morning doesn't slip away.

In the pomodoro method, after four 25-minute rounds comes a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. Fifteen is the minimum to really rest before going back in.

  • One focus block on a dull task
  • Your whole morning routine
  • The long break after four pomodoros
  • Body doubling with a friend on video
  • Planning your week

How to use this timer

Tap Start. The countdown keeps going even if you switch tabs or lock your computer, because it uses your device's clock rather than a counter that can drift. The tab title shows the time left, so you can see it at a glance.

Need more time? Tap +1 min without stopping. Just want a big clock? Tap Full screen. At the end you'll hear a short beep and, on phones, feel a vibration when the browser allows it.

Frequently asked questions

Do 15 minute focus sessions work?

They do, especially if long sessions make you freeze. Several short blocks with breaks usually beat an hour of fighting distractions.

Can I chain two 15 minute timers?

Sure. When it beeps, take a one or two minute pause and tap Start again. The pause helps you notice whether you're still focused.

Does the timer work when my screen is locked?

With the tab in the background, yes: time is measured by your device's clock and the sound is scheduled ahead. With the phone locked, some browsers silence the page. For a guaranteed alert on a locked phone, use the Done! app.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. The timer runs in your browser, free, with no sign-up and no ads. Nothing you do here is sent anywhere.

Want this timer in your pocket?

Done! pairs the timer with one-tap micro-habits and gentle reminders. Never judges.
