Online timer
Pick a time and tap Start. It beeps at the end, even with the tab in the background.
Pick a time
- 2 minutesTo start the thing you keep putting off
- 5 minutesA real break, away from your phone
- 10 minutesTidy one room or clear quick emails
- 15 minutesA short block of focus
- 20 minutesLight study or a short nap
- 25 minutesOne pomodoro
- 30 minutesOne whole task, start to finish
- 1 hourDeep work, with a break at the end
A visible timer turns time into something you can see. That helps a lot if you lose track of time, freeze before starting, or can't stop once you're in. "I'll work on this" becomes "I'll work on this until it beeps".
You don't need the perfect number. Stuck? Start with 2 minutes. Tired? 10. On a roll? 25. You can add or remove minutes mid-way without starting over.
How to use this timer
Tap Start. The countdown keeps going even if you switch tabs or lock your computer, because it uses your device's clock rather than a counter that can drift. The tab title shows the time left, so you can see it at a glance.
Need more time? Tap +1 min without stopping. Just want a big clock? Tap Full screen. At the end you'll hear a short beep and, on phones, feel a vibration when the browser allows it.
Frequently asked questions
Which time should I pick?
To start something hard, 2 or 5 minutes. For a chore, 10 or 15. To study or work with focus, 25 (one pomodoro) or 30. Go for an hour only when you're already in the flow.
Does the timer work when my screen is locked?
With the tab in the background, yes: time is measured by your device's clock and the sound is scheduled ahead. With the phone locked, some browsers silence the page. For a guaranteed alert on a locked phone, use the Done! app.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. The timer runs in your browser, free, with no sign-up and no ads. Nothing you do here is sent anywhere.
Want this timer in your pocket?
