10:00

What 10 minutes are good for

Ten minutes is perfect for chores that feel endless but aren't. Almost any room looks noticeably better after ten minutes: a kitchen with an empty sink, a couch you can sit on again, a bathroom counter wiped down.

The rule is simple: start the timer, do just that one thing and stop when it beeps. Knowing there's an end takes the dread out of "I have to clean the whole house". People with ADHD often do well with this, because the task gets a clear start, middle and finish.

Ten minutes works at your desk too: clear your inbox, tidy your workspace, review what today actually needs. And as a slightly longer break, it's enough to eat something without rushing.

  • Tidy one room (just one)
  • Answer the quickest emails
  • Review today's list
  • A short walk around the block
  • Read a short chapter

How to use this timer

Tap Start. The countdown keeps going even if you switch tabs or lock your computer, because it uses your device's clock rather than a counter that can drift. The tab title shows the time left, so you can see it at a glance.

Need more time? Tap +1 min without stopping. Just want a big clock? Tap Full screen. At the end you'll hear a short beep and, on phones, feel a vibration when the browser allows it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I clean my house in 10 minutes?

The whole house, no. One room or one area, yes. Do one zone at a time, one timer per zone. By the end of the week, the difference shows.

Is 10 minutes a good break length?

It's a longer break, good after two or three hours of work, or in place of the long pomodoro break on busy days.

Does the timer work when my screen is locked?

With the tab in the background, yes: time is measured by your device's clock and the sound is scheduled ahead. With the phone locked, some browsers silence the page. For a guaranteed alert on a locked phone, use the Done! app.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No. The timer runs in your browser, free, with no sign-up and no ads. Nothing you do here is sent anywhere.

Want this timer in your pocket?

Done! pairs the timer with one-tap micro-habits and gentle reminders. Never judges.
